Sustainability

Social Impact

At South West Six, we are in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all. As a company, we are focused and committed on the goals below to make an impact. We work with women cooperatives in Northern Ghana, to produce our products. All purchases directly impact the communities we work with.

We source our ingredients from these rural Ghanaian communities, but we also work closely with the women themselves. We empower them to build their businesses and help them improve over time through proper training and experienced guidance. We also help them source quality protective gear and other working garments to make their jobs easier, safer, and that much more productive.

Gender equality is a huge issue, especially in impoverished countries and communities. This is why we choose to lift up these women and support them as they support their families. We’re there every step of the way, always paying a fair price for their goods and creating jobs as we help build out their businesses.

Eco- Friendly Practices

Educating our customers to recycle the packaging they receive their goods in is our priority. This is done by leaving a note in the package that they should recycle the packaging. We have also implemented the below:
  • The plastic lining/bags we use to seal the shea butter is Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) which is recyclable and eco-friendly.
  • The bottles and drums that we package our natural oils in is High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and is eco-friendly and a sustainable solution which makes is great for recycling.
  • All our boxes that we package our customer products in are highly recyclable, and the recycling logo is on the bottom of the boxes.
  • We’ll soon be transporting orders that are over 20,000kg in an eco friendly container which uses bamboo flooring.
  • All our products are handmade by local communities and woman’s groups which makes it environmentally friendly and causing minimal or no harm to the environment.

Sustainable quality

100% Sustainable

Remaining 100% sustainable is part of our commitment to ethical practices - we’re nothing without our planet and we want to be kind to it. Because our ingredients come straight from the earth, we ensure the products themselves and our practices are 100% pure and sustainable. With our products, you can rest assured no harm is done to the environment.

Never Tested on Animals

Animal testing is a sad and harmful practice that’s unfortunately all-too-common. The worst part is that it’s not even the most effective way to test products - it’s just the easiest because animals can’t fight back. Our commitment to kindness extends to animals and any testing we must do is done without them.

Cruelty-Free

The “cruelty-free” label is a high and in-demand standard in the beauty industry. This is an official and recognized statement that a brand or product doesn’t exploit animals for their business - and it’s one we bare with pride. We fully support the cruelty-free movement and you can find this assurance on every one of our products.
