Today, on the occasion of UAE National Day — a day that celebrates unity, progress and vision — we pause to reflect on the growing strength of Ghana–UAE trade relations and the opportunities this opens for Ghana’s natural products industry. As a Ghanaian exporter rooted in authentic traditonal products — shea butter, African black soap, baobab oil and more — South West Six Ltd is proud to be part of this journey, bridging continents and cultures through trade.
Why UAE National Day Matters — and Why It Resonates With Us
The United Arab Emirates commemorates its national foundation each year on December 2, a day when the seven emirates came together to form a union based on unity, progress and shared prosperity.
This spirit of unity and ambition mirrors our mission at South West Six: to unify Ghana’s natural wealth with global markets, while uplifting communities, preserving heritage, and driving sustainable exports.
Last week in Accra, we attended the UAE National Day celebration, joined by H.E. Dr. Abdulla Al Mandoos and his delegation. That gathering reminded us of how far Ghana–UAE relations have come — and how many doors remain open for collaboration.
Ghana–UAE: A Trading Partnership on the Rise
Over the past years, bilateral trade between Ghana and the UAE has grown significantly. Non-oil trade between the two countries reportedly reached US$2.7 billion in 2022, a strong increase from prior years.
This growth reflects expanding cooperation across investment, exports, agro-processing, and logistics. Initiatives such as trade councils, joint business forums, and investment promotion offices have helped deepen ties — creating more channels for Ghanaian products to reach Gulf markets.
For Ghanaian exporters, this means access to a market that values quality, authenticity and sustainably sourced products. For South West Six, it means a chance to expand beyond traditional markets and introduce our Ghana-made shea butter, African black soap, baobab oil, and other botanical products to UAE retailers and consumers.
What This Means for South West Six and Ghana’s Natural Products Exports
As trade between Ghana and UAE strengthens, we see a real opportunity for Ghana’s natural-beauty and wellness products to gain international exposure.
At South West Six, our product line already includes:
-
Natural shea butter — raw and value-added
-
African black soap — authentic, handmade
-
Baobab oil and other botanical extracts
These products resonate well with global trends toward clean beauty, sustainability, and traceable sourcing. As Ghana–UAE trade relations deepen, our hope is that these types of value-added natural products will find their place on shelves in the UAE and across the Middle East.
We remain optimistic, and will continue to work on compliance, quality assurance, and export readiness — our commitment to ethical sourcing and community impact remains firm.

Looking Forward: Building Bridges, Growing Together
UAE National Day reminds us that with unity comes strength, vision, and opportunity. For Ghana and the UAE, this translates into deeper trade connections, shared prosperity, and cultural exchange. For South West Six, it’s a call to action — to build on heritage, quality and trust, and to bring Ghana’s finest natural products to new markets.
On this UAE National Day, we celebrate not just a nation’s history — but a growing friendship between our countries, and the promising future for Ghana’s natural exports.
We’re proud of where we’ve come, and excited about where we’re headed.
